Located on International Drive, the Rosen YMCA Aquatic Center is a state-of-the-art facility that serves area residents. The facility was recently renamed to honor Harris Rosen, whose leadership has made possible the many programs at the center.
An avid swimmer, Rosen has a long history with the Aquatic Center and its many members. Today the Aquatic Center is thriving, hosting large competitions such as the 2018 UANA Pan American Masters Championships but in 1992, the center was in danger of closing for good. Rosen enlisted the help of celebrities, organizations, and Orange County to help save the aquatic center, which was eventually gifted to the YMCA of Central Florida.
Rosen has donated millions to the YMCA, much of which will fund renovations over the next few years. As a result of his continued support, the Rosen YMCA Aquatic Center has two Olympic-size swimming pools and new diving platforms. It is home for many competitive swimmers, divers, and water polo players as well as for hundreds of children from nearby communities who have learned drowning prevention and swimming skills.
