Major Effort Underway in Orlando to Aid People Fleeing Ukraine

Sponsors Needed for Feeding Ukraine, an event to support World Central Kitchen, which reported a Russian missile destroyed one of its partner kitchens just this past weekend

Orlando, FL, April 18, 2022–As war rages throughout Ukraine and people take refuge from the Russian assault, there is a dire need for freshly prepared, nutritious meals and aid for those impacted by the crisis. Now, that need is even greater after a weekend assault which destroyed a humanitarian kitchen linked to World Central Kitchen. Currently, some of the Orlando area’s finest chefs and restaurants are answering the call, but more help is needed to support feeding Ukraine, a food and beverage tasting event presented by the Adam Michael Rosen Foundation.

Feeding Ukraine will take place on May 21, 2022, at Rosen Shingle Creek. It will feature culinary excellence from across Central Florida, dishes to delight and signature creations all in one place. Sponsorships remain available and there are multiple ways you can help through ticket sales as well as donations.

Hotelier and area philanthropist Harris Rosen says for him, getting involved was an easy decision. “My dad’s parents came to America from Ukraine, so I have roots in that region. What is happening there is a travesty and if we can help in some small way, we will,” Rosen said.

In addition to the fabulous fare, attendees can take part in a silent auction, enjoy an open bar and live music. Proceeds raised from Feeding Ukraine will go to support World Central Kitchen, a non-profit organization founded by celebrity Chef José Andrés. Chef Andrés and his WCK team have built a network of food trucks and emergency kitchens at the Ukraine-Poland border to serve hot meals to Ukrainian refugees. Currently, they are serving an estimated 300,000 meals daily in that region as part of the #ChefsForUkraine movement.

Again, Feeding Ukraine will take place Saturday, May 21 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Rosen Shingle Creek.
